Deerweed
Acmispon glaber
ABOUT
In peak bloom in late spring, this is a pioneer species and nitrogen-fixing plant. Pollinators kill for it.
Lovely yellow flowers that cover the branches all the way up. The petals fall off on the exterior of the plant first, luring bees deeper into the plant as time continues.
They are abundant in the hills of the SCV, turning them yellow. An important plant.
